Such a forum I think would be a good thing - but no - I do not think the
cvs support group is that.
There is the "config-mgmt" newsgroup, but it's gone a bit quiet since
cmcorssroads.com got involved... But there has been some very
interesting architectural and procedural discussions there in the past.
A forum where processes/CM could be discussed in a particularly open
source "context" I think would be very useful - to help guide OSS
projects to better fulfill the requirements that users are expecting the
tools to fulfill.
Of course then you end up with the problem of "ok - that's a great idea
- now who wants to implement that?" and also that some projects have an
interest in promoting a particular methodology and some topics are
therefore "off topic".
