Also note that TortoiseCVS has it's own newsgroup (see the
tortoisecvs.org site for details), and TortoiseCVS by default uses CVSNT
client.  CVSNT Server also runs on Linux which may provide you better
integration with TortoiseCVS (eg: Mergepoints in the Revision Graph).

I've never seen the error you're describing but I tend to use CVSNT on
both client and server.
