Configuration Management Support Specialist

Overview
The Support Specialist works as part of a centralized team responsible
for the development and support of Configuration Management (CM)
technology and processes used by multiple game development and
technology teams. The CM Support Specialist's primary focus is to
research, plan, allocate, implement, support and optimize configuration
management infrastructure solutions (build hardware and software
configurations) for game development teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support a build farm, including software configuration,
software updates, and setting up new projects
- Provide first level troubleshooting support for CM Infrastructure
- Ensuring traceability, repeatability, and reporting of all actions
and results
- Monitor and analyze metrics in order to implement optimization
strategies for CM builds
- Investigate new technology and techniques in order to optimize CM
infrastructure performance
- User administration within CM infrastructure, including creating
users, granting and revoking access

Required Technical Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computing Science, Computer
Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent
industry experience
- 2+ years Systems Administration experience with "mission critical"
systems in a medium to large enterprise environment
- Ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in highly
complex systems including network, OS or hardware optimizations
- Experience with distributed build systems such as Incredibuild, or
SN-DBS
- Experience with revision control systems (Perforce) administration
and version-control concepts including branching and integrations
- Strong working knowledge of Windows OS (server & workstation) and
Linux - MCSE preferred but not required
- Proficient in programming or scripting experience in one or more of
the following: C#, C++, Perl, Python, VBScript
- Working knowledge of HTML and SQL, or equivalent
- Good documentation skills are required in order to define and
document build processes and requirements

Additional Skills
- Configuration Management analyst experience in a medium to large
scale software development environment
- Experience with automated build systems such as BuildForge and with
build hardware configuration and maintenance
- Knowledge of a wide variety of CM tools and methodologies is
advantageous
- Knowledge of the Configuration Management discipline, best practices,
UNIX and PC operating system experience, and software development
lifecycle knowledge, and the ability to apply that knowledge and
experience in a pragmatic way
- Proven ability to analyze, propose and implement workflow and process
improvements
- Previous Perforce experience is very valuable
- Prior experience with games consoles (e.g. PS2/3, GameCube/Wii or
Xbox/Xbox360)
