Reverting to a previous file in the repository |

Hi guys...
I have this problem...
We have 'branched' a software up to latest public release...
A guy wrongly committed over one of the files of such branch, so that the
branch that was done to have a safe and freezed release version results now
having an unwanted new committed file ( and new release number for such file
)...
How to revert back to previous file release in the repository....? Any
simple and safe way ( apart committing the old one over it, but that would
cause a new file revision to be generated ) ?
tnx
Alex
