Why phase it over several weeks? Even if it's a large repository, you can rsync the files over to the new server over the course of several days. Then, when you decide to cut over (usually overnight), run a final rsync and switch the dns names of the servers. Voila! You're done. No one has to release sandboxes or change CVSROOT vars. pc On 2/9/07, Roddie Grant <address@hidden> wrote:
I'm moving to a new server and have to move a repository. The repository contains a number of projects, and I would prefer to move them one at a time over, possibly, several weeks. Having released all sandboxes for a given project can I just copy that project's directory from /var/lib/cvsroot to the same place on the new server?
