That sounds like they are incorrectly stored in the Attic -- what does
"cvs status" say about them?  Files should be stored in the Attic if,
and only if, they are not alive on the tip of the trunk.  If that is the
problem, you can manually move them out of the Attic or you can delete
them from the head of the trunk and then re-add them.
