Well, you'll have to decide whether you can live with that. Modules are not directories (although directories are modules.) Modules are a way of aggregating groups of directories and files into a single name. If your users won't accept that, then I don't know any other way of doing what you want. Perhaps someone else here has some other ideas.
BTW, I've tried your suggestion and when I open the module browser I see something like that: module1 module2 module3 +aliases - test module4 ... Is there a way to avoid this aliases entry?
I don't know. I don't use a GUI browser. You might try the mailing list for whatever GUI browser you are using.
