Dear Arthur,

Out of curiosity, what clue did I provide that allows you to erroneously presume that I was using CVSNT? Further, why would you erroneously presume that I would waste time in the wrong user support fora? Are you the moderator of this list and you experience such a large confusion? If this is a matter of you thinking we are wasting your time, then maybe you should consider the duplicate bandwidth by sending direct mail plus list mail. Learn how to use your MUA.

These are rhetorical questions which need no response.

If you are using CVSNT then you should contact the CVSNT newsgroup.
CVSNT is not CVS:
http://www.cvsnt.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/cvsnt
or
news://news.cvsnt.org/support.cvsnt

Please do not post questions about using CVSNT on the CVS newsgroup.

You can find out exactly what version of CVS/CVSNT you are using by
issuing the 'cvs ver' command at the command prompt.

cvs commit: Examining .
cvs commit: sticky tag `rev6_3_452_6' for file `wcrepair.rc' is not a branch
cvs commit: Examining res
cvs [commit aborted]: correct above errors first!

I don't wish to remove the tag because these set of folders are part of a v6.3 release "end of life" and just in maintenance mode.

What switches do I need here?

It depends on what result you want. Only one version can have the tag
rev6_3_452_6 and you have 'checked out' the rev6_3_452_6 'version' of
wcrepair.rc and you are now trying to change it using 'commit'. Do you
want the 'new' version to be labelled rev6_3_452_6 or do you want the
'old' (original) version to be labelled 'rev6_3_452_6'.

I need the "CVS for DUMMIES" handbook. <g>

Or just the manual:
http://www.cvsnt.org/manual/html/Sticky-tags.html

Arthur Barrett
