The Congressional Representative from Hollywood, CA wants to create an
online corporate vigilante posse to wipe out peer-to-peer file sharing.

Howard Berman (D-CA) plans to introduce a bill to authorize copyright
holders to use malicious denial of service attacks against users of
services like Morpheus and Kazaa to prevent copyrighted works from being
shared. FSF doesn't support infringing copyright, but we do believe that
pre-DMCA copyright law is enough protection for copyright holders to stop
infringers, and thus we oppose Berman's legislation. We hope you will,
too.
