The Free Software Foundation has a 20-hour/week position for a "Copyright
Assignment Clerk". This position must be carried out on site at the Free
Software Foundation offices in Boston, MA.

The duties of this position include:

     * daily paper mail and email correspondence from Free Software
       developer volunteers around the world.

     * discussing with Free Software developers how to fill out legal
       paperwork.

     * explaining rules set by FSF's General Counsel's office for
       employer disclaimers for copyright assignments.

     * diligent and careful filing, archiving, and recording of all the
Foundation's copyright assignment data (both electronic and paper).

     * Daily use of a GNU/Linux computer, particularly, but not
exclusively, email clients and web browsers.

     * proper coordination with and escalation other FSF staff and legal
counsel when clarification on legal points are needed.

Experience with GNU/Linux systems, or as legal support staff is a plus,
but not required. Law students are particularly encouraged to apply.

Please submit your resume and cover letter, both in ASCII format only, to
the email address <address@hidden>. The subject line of that email
must read:

Only email resumes are accepted.

Applications will be evaluated on an ongoing basis. We expect the
position to be filled by 7 October 2002.
