Here's your latest issue of Really Useful Sites for International Trade Professionals. This free bi-weekly
newsletter reviews useful Web sites from the Web Resources database at FITA's International Trade/ Import-Export Portal at www.fita.org, an
excellent source for trade leads, news, events, and a link
library of 3,000+ sites related to international trade.

Please feel free to pass this newsletter on to others.
My name is John McDonnell, and for years I wrote a weekly e-
newsletter that profiled business-oriented Web sites. Now I'm
using my Web research skills to find sites that are useful for
international trade, as well as some fun sites that you'll enjoy
visiting.

ONLINE CONVERSION
http://www.onlineconversion.com/
I've never had a clear grasp of the metric system of measurement,
and now that my kids are learning it in school I'm lost when they
come to me with a question. I'm in luck, however, because I just
found a site that will help me. It's called Online Conversion
at www.onlineconversion.com, and it has over 9,000
conversions and calculators for systems of measurement. It's not
just for converting miles into kilometers, either. You can use
this site to convert clothing sizes from one country to another,
currencies, even the number of calories you'll burn by running.

ANNUAL REPORTS
http://www.reportgallery.com
If you're thinking of doing business with a company or investing
in it, you want to learn as much as you can about it. One way to
do that is by looking at the company's annual report. Annual
reports give you a financial "snapshot" of the company, and
they're a great starting point for your research.
Years ago you had to ask companies to mail you their annual
reports, but with the Internet you can find a report and download
it in minutes. Here are two sites where you can find annual
reports, and they're free. You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader
software to read these reports after you download them, but
there are links at each site where you can download this free
program.
The Annual Report Gallery at www.reportgallery.com has
over 2,200 reports online. You'll find links to the company's
home page, its annual report, and analysts' reports.
Another good site is CAROL at www.carol.co.uk. You can search by company name or by industry. There are reports on
companies in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Besides annual reports,
you'll find company profiles, financial reports, and stock
analyses.

FREE TRAVEL TIPS
http://www.freetraveltips.com/
I had neighbors once who went on vacation for a week and
accidentally left their front door unlocked. They would have
benefited from the "Things To Do The Day You Leave" checklist at
Free Travel Tips & Links at www.freetraveltips.com. This
site has tons of useful information for travelers. There are tips
and advice about airlines, hotels, car rentals, cruises,
restaurants, theme parks, traveling with kids, and much more.

SPORTS NEWS
http://www.sportsnews.com/
Being a rabid Philadelphia 76er fan, I naturally want to get
updates on my team whenever possible. One good site for that is
Sports News at www.sportsnews.com. This well-organized
site has breaking news on its home page, and a list of categories
(Badminton, Cricket, Cycling, Golf, Soccer, Sumo, Wrestling, to
name a few) that you can click on to get more detail about what's
happening in your favorite sport.
