Yes, IMAPS is working fine with Gnus. See the manual for further
information: (info "(gnus)IMAP")
Don't know about POP3 and I'm too lazy to search the manual for it but
on the other hand I would never use Gnus to receive mails via
POP3. fetchmail and especially getmail can do this better.
