Thanks for the advice. That corrected my problem under GNU Emacs.
Though, there were 2 reasons I did not compile Gnus:
o It just states "you should", and not "you must" (which, as I can
see, would be more appropriate)
o I wanted to share the Gnus folder for use from GNU Emacs and
XEmacs at the same time, and I know that byte-compiled files are
not compatible between the two systems.
So, if I understand correctly, to do so (read my mails from one system
or the other), I must duplicate the Windows folders, and byte-compile
both?
