X-Face and Value out of range

Hi,

I use GNU Emacs 21.3 and No Gnus 0.2 on an AMD 64-bit computer running
Linux. When I try to view a message with an X-Face header, I get the
following error message

gnus-display-x-face-in-from: Value out of range for variable `gc-cons-threshold'

This does not happen when I run the same Gnus in GNU Emacs 21.3 on a
32-bit computer. Does anyone know what to do to get rid of the error message?
