hi group,

updating my XEmacs to 21.4.20, I realized that it comes with Gnus
5.10.7. That works, but I wanted the newer version. After downloading
gnus-5.10.8.tar.gz, unpacking to a folder and starting with

make <path_where_xemacs.exe_exists> /copy >logfile

lots of failures running in screen. The logfile says:

---start---

Trying to start Gnus again fails with

"You should byte-compile gnus"
"Cannot open load file:term"

All this under WinXP SP2

Whats to do? how byte-compile?
Help needed
