The complex and solvent molecules both lie on twofold rotation axes. The MnII atoms are bridged by the suc ligands, generating a one-dimensional chain structure. These are connected by TBC dianions, forming a three-dimensional network.
The NiII atom is in a distorted octahedral geometry. The complete btc anion is generated by inversion symmetry.
The tridentate BIPI ligand is essentially planar. This supramolecular network is consolidated by intermolecular hydrogen-bonding interactions.
These are connected by TBC dianions, forming a three-dimensional network.
The CoIII complex and the nitrate anion possess crystallographic twofold rotation axis symmetry.
O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into an infinite two-dimensional network, with these networks held together by van der Waals forces to generate a layer structure. N hydrogen bonds link the chains and solvent water molecules into a three-dimensional network.
The tetrahedral Zn atom is coordinated by one imine N and one phenolate O atoms of the Schiff base ligand and by two chloride anions. The combination of the four-stranded chain and the double-chain leads to a three-dimensional network.
The NiII atom is in a distorted octahedral geometry. It seems fitting that over the last few weeks I have been. Dr Phil McGraw's line of "Shape-Up" supplements became the subject of a class action lawsuit last year.
O hydrogen bonds complete the structure. The acetate anions are hydrogen bonded to the coordinated hydroxyl groups and also to the free arm, forming a two-dimensional sheet-like motif.
The ZnII atom is coordinated by one N and two O atoms from one Schiff base ligand, and by three O atoms from water molecules. A non-coordinated water molecule completes the structure. The CoIII complex and the nitrate anion possess crystallographic twofold rotation axis symmetry.
The Na atoms in tychite are slightly overbonded relative to those in northupite.
