I'll submit a fix to your "correction" message today. As for the original
issue, I see this in the code:

 print "Content-Type: text/html\n\n<META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT=\"0;
URL=systempreferences.pl?tab=".$tabsysprefs{$input->param('variable')}."\"></html>";

...looks like it is supposed to work as you describe, but
$tabsysprefs{$input->param('variable')} is coming up empty?
