           Summary: 505 Field Indexing
           Product: Koha
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P3
         Component: Searching
        AssignedTo: address@hidden
        ReportedBy: address@hidden
         QAContact: address@hidden

Right now the 505 field is indexed as a note, but if it's a formatted 505 it
has title and author fields in it. It would make sense if these were indexed
as titles and authors so that they could be found in advanced searches. See
chat below with developers:

<nengard> now a question from a koha person - does koha search 505 subfields
as authors and titles?
 <nengard> if I have a $t and $r in my 505 will the $t come up if I do a title
search?
 <rch> isn't 505$r indexed as author ?
<rch> looks like no... perhaps it should be added to the default record.abs
<nengard> rch - it should be indexed as such - if it's not then i can submit a
bug report if you want
 <nengard> i got this question
 <nengard> <nengard> now a question from a koha person - does koha search 505
subfields as authors and titles?
 <nengard> <nengard> if I have a $t and $r in my 505 will the $t come up if I

<nengard> <gmcharlt> nengard: currently 505 is only in the 'Note' index
<rch> nengard: yes, go ahead and submit a bug
<nengard> gmcharlt is that an ehancement request? or a bug? or no possible to
fix at all?
 <gmcharlt> enhancement request
