It could be the MS firewall running on the machine with KOHA installed. Either disable the firewall or set the exception for port 80 for apache.

Yes I am using http://intranet and http://opac.
However, I can only access the site from the machine where KOHA is sitting regardless of the fact that I added opac and intranet on my DNS to resolve to the machine's ip address (which is static).

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

You can ignore the favicon errors. What is the URL you're currently using to
access the site? http://intranet?
Maybe you could try creating a new user in KOHA and try that account 1st.
I'm currently only using KOHA 2.2.7, so this error might be KOHA 2.2.8
specific or there might be some configuration error for apache.

Hie,

Thanks for the help. I checked the logs but there seems to be nothing on
login errors as pasted below. It is reporting some missing files.

however, on the browser itself its reporting "Login error. You are
accessing koha from a different ip address! Login again"
So I have to login each time I perform a different task.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

1. You can check Apache's log file for any errors. The log file should be
located unde the Apache directory probably something like C:\Program
Files\Apache Group\Apache2\logs\. Look at the "intranet_error" log file.

2. To add staff users, you'll need to create a "Staff" user group
category.
Under Parameters->Borrower categories you can add a new user group
category.
Then Members->Add member to create a new user account. Click on 'Save'.
On
the following page, you can click on "Modify user flag" to set the
allowable
functions for this particular user.

Hope that helps,
John

Hi All,

I am a newbie to the KOHA system. I managed to get it up and running on
one of my Mecer boxes today(11/05/2007). However, I am facing a few
problems detailed as follows:

1. When I login using the default detail koha/koha it boots me out once
I
click on any functionality. Am I supposed to change some options in my
browser? IE 6

2. Where do I get options to add staff users and is there a way to limit
staff to certain modules and functionalities (for security purposes)?

Thanks in advance.
