Hello dear readers! :-)

Just to let you know that libchop, with its incredibly high commit rate,
is now continuously built on Hydra:

  http://hydra.nixos.org/jobset/libchop/master

>From there, one can take the latest tarball, manual, or pre-compiled
binaries installable with Nix.

It’s being built against the latest Guile 2.0.x, so as to catch bugs
before they hatch. ;-)

Speaking of which, I recently fixed GC-related bug: in 0.5.1,
chop-backup would end up using almost unbounded memory, proportionally
to the number of files backed up using LZO compression (thanks to Lluís
Batlle for reporting it.) Unfortunately, the fix depends on another fix
in Guile, which will be in Guile 2.0.4. Until then, one has to use
Guile from Git...

Other improvements include noticing unchanged directories, which allows
chop-backup to avoid adding new entries in the version history when a
directory is unchanged.

Thanks,
Ludo’.
