Note also that libtool 1.4.3 failed "make distcheck", for the
same reason IIRC.  As I don't generally use the wrappers I
don't have much more to add, but I'll wholeheartedly ensorse
it if it fixes make distcheck.  :)  I'd vote for checking it in.
