RE: libtool 1.4.3 vs. UnixWare/OpenUNIX

Grr. There are a LOT of broken libtool 1.4.3's out there. Basically the changes get the dependencies right, and fix the places where $LD was used for shared libraries and $CC should have been used.

One of the MAJOR apps that needs this is PHP, without these changes, you can't build PHP as a DSO for Apache.

What are the chances of a 1.4.4 release ?

I'm NOT pleased.

Larry,

The 1.4 branch is obsolete. We are planning to release 1.5 in a few
weeks, so if you port your patch over to current CVS (unless it's fixed
there already) it will be considered. It will help also if you briefly
outline what the changes do, or why you made them.

Thanks,

Robert Boehne

Attached please find a patch against libtool 1.4.3's libtool.m4 that
fixes UnixWare and OpenUNIX builds.

Can it be applied to the next release, please?
