Are you referring to the inability to bootstrap with an older libtool
installed in the system?  I've been running into that...  I've been
using the latest libtool CVS with my KDE bootstrap to work on 3.2 with
Qt/Mac (since libtool HEAD now handles frameworks nicely).
Unfortunately, the only way to make KDE's autogen stuff work is to copy
libtool.m4 over the system (or fink) installed version in
share/aclocal/, which is fine locally, but not really feasible from a
packager standpoint.
