MinGW compilation should be practically identical to Cygwin
compilation yet MinGW is now failing miserably. I have attached a
build log from MinGW since I am completely burnt out this evening, but
perhaps some folks from Great Britian may want to take a look.
I will release 1.9d after fixing the mkdir_p issue, and use that as a
baseline
for testing on all the architectures I have access to. Not until next
week though unfortunately.
But it seems that we should all be using FreeBSD:

Or darwin, since Peter and I both seem to use that most of the time.
It appears that we have given the BSDs a bit of extra attention :-o
