Well, that was just right after I
 a) found the first missing pair of brackets by chance,
 b) and then it cost me about half an hour to do a thorough search for
    all of these,
 c) and then I could not think of a way to automate this search nor
prevent such bugs in the future.

Kinda the moment when that subject line was born.

What do you mean? That was all I needed to let off steam (dunno if this
phrase is right here, looked it up). What'd you expect?

Good. I mean, most systems affected are rather old and most probably
out of order anyway. The Java one did scare me, however. gcj seems to
accept the wrong main definition (I don't know much about Java, so I'm
actually unaware if it was really wrong or gcj was just being forgiving
here).

Thanks for checking,
Ralf
