Thanks for your effort. I don't think it makes much sense to change
something in the 1.3.* branch without making similar changes in
mainline, since 1.4 is supposed to be released in the near future.
Besides, there have been some minor changes in libtool regarding AIX
support lately, so posting patches against a previous release will
just make it harder for us to apply them. :-)
That said, contributions are always welcome :-)
