Building shared C++ libraries

Hi,

I'd like to know if it is possible to build shared C++
libraries with libtool, and if so, how? The libtool
documentation is very vague on that issue, but I've
seen some comments on the mailing lists indicating
that it could be possible.

the background to my query is that libtool 1.4.3 on
i386-linux when trying to link c++ code to shared
libraries uses gcc instead of g++. So it forgets to
link in -lstdc++ and -lg++ .
