It has recently come to my attention that the latest versions of HP-UX
uses two different file suffices on shared libraries on ia64.
Traditional PA-RISC libraries use .sl endings, while ELF style ia64
libraries (32 and 64 bits) use .so endings.
Checking the ChangeLog in CVS,
<URL:http://savannah.gnu.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/libtool/ChangeLog>, I find
no indication that this is handled properly by the latest version of
libtool. Will the newest (or next version of) libtool generate .so
libraries when building ELF ia64 libraries on HP-UX?
