It is FSF policy that GNU lists be open in order to solicit bug
reports from non-subscribers.
I have installed a simple anti-spam filter (bogofilter in my case)
which reduces the amount of spam I receive to about a message per day
vs 100+ spams per day, with practically no false positives. I suggest
that you do the same since there are many other sources of spam.
Rather than closing the list, it would be appreciated if the FSF folks
would install a anti-spam filter on their mail server in order to
discard obvious spam before relaying the mail. This is easy to
accomplish.
