Hi Gary,

I've recently bumped into a libtool problem with older (3.3) OpenBSD on m68k, where linking of one kaffe library fails because the linker doesn't find the verifier libraries, as they don't end up having version suffixes.

Using need_version=yes seems to fix that. See http://www.kaffe.org/pipermail/kaffe/2004-September/099835.html for details.

Do you have a patch? Or at least the host triplets for versions that need_version should be yes?

m68k-unknown-openbsd3.3 at least, that's the one where the problem was noticed. The patch would be setting need_version to yes in that case, afaict.

We've had similar issues on other openbsd 3.3 cpu-arches, as far as I can recall, but I don't have an opportunity to test it anymore. Otoh, I can confirm this bug & fix for m68k-openbsd3.3 :)

I'll put the change in before the next alpha release if you can get it to me by the weekend...

Thanks a lot, and thanks some more for all the great work libtool hackers are putting into it.

cheers,
