yes, but only long term. if you add pkg-config now, I'd wait three
years or so before using it, because most people would have an old
version of libtool installed. 

but it still would be great to add a pkg-config .pc file,
as I'm using those for about every other library, and it
makes using / linking / finding libraries very, very easy.
