Nope, no config.rpath.

If you want to try it, get:
ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/netcdf/snapshot/netcdf-daily.tar.gz
And configure like this:
./configure --enable-shared --enable-c-only
(The enable-shared is needed because the default is static one. The
--enable-c-only will turn off all fortran 77, fortran 90, and C++, as
well as some other stuff, and only build the core netCDF-3 C library,
which makes things faster.)
