The previous wording talked about modifing the /control points/ of ties in a chord - only the first tie can be modified. That looks more sensible, maybe we should restore the original words?
Possibly Carl thought that this example of tweak limitation was too complex for a user manual and picked a simpler example without checking that it applied, mistaking the reason of the problem.
It would be even nicer if one could manipulate the control points of all ties. I think I tried figuring this out once and gave up since it was not simple enough for me to get a hang of in a short time.
