http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=3098The problem is that this is not a feature of on-the-fly but rather a feature of #, so the question is whether the \on-the-fly interface was actually smart to do in this manner.
I have to admit that I haven't yet understood what on-the-fly is actually good for.
