Something very weird's going on.
If I redo the definition of \bar "" in a ly-file with a not empty string, which can be done with:
\version "2.21.0" #(add-bar-glyph-print-procedure "x" (@@ (lily) make-empty-bar-line)) #(define-bar-line "x" "x" "x" #f) << { c'2 \bar "x" } { d'2. }
then all is fine.
Why?
But using an undefined BarLine will cause the bug:
<< { c'2 \bar "y" } { d'2. } >>
Why?
And it doesn't fix Simon's example.
