problems with cvs

OK, I'm trying to do stuff with cvs.  I made a ~/devlily/  and did 
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:address@hidden:/cvsroot/lilypond co
lilypond from that dir.  After that I tried the autogen thing, make
web-doc, and it failed. It tried make dist-clean, ./configure again, and
then make all.  Here's the error message:

As I said, I don't know if the cvs version currently doesn't build, or
whether I messed up getting the cvs version.
