Installing old lilypond version on cygwin

Hi,

Currently I am trying to create an environment from which I can run a 
2.2.6 version of lilypond on cygwin.
The reason is that I made a musicbook with lots of TeX code and lilypond 
2.2.6 tweaks in it, which I cannot convert to the currrent version.
I first had some problems getting 2.2.6 compiled, e.g. because the 
configure script did not recognize the latest GCC compiler version.
Then I had problems with installation because the cygwin shell did not 
allow the very long commandlines generated from the makefile when 
installing the mf sub-dir.
Then I had problems with some code genated by lilypond which was 
accepted by TeX, with which Jan has helped me to fix and also with 
finding the postscript file music-drawing-routines.ps by making a 
symlink to the it from the dvips directory. After another mail exchange 
witrh Jan I also symlinked `../fonts/map'from the  dvips subdir.

So far so good.

I now have most of it up and running, but not quite :-( . When the PDF 
or PS file is produced, no noteheads are shown and with --verbose I see:

when I run `kpsewhich feta16.pfa' I get

> /usr/local/share/lilypond/2.2.6/fonts/type1/feta16.pfa

which is the correct file IMO.The same happens for `feta-nummer8'

So, can anyone give me a clue on how to solve the problem.
