Thanks for your answer!
The programs for which I have a configure problem are :
python2.2
gcc
g++
guile-config
mftrace
pkg-config
makeinfo
`which python` -V works.
`which gcc` --version works.
`which g++` --version.
`which guile-config` --version works.
`which mftrace` --version works.
`which pkg-config` --version works.
`which makeinfo` --version works.
Some are installed in a non-standard place especially for lilypond.
