Sorry, I'm not certain I understand -- is this a suggestion about rewriting the docs, or a question about how to use lilypond?

If it's about rewriting the docs, please be a bit more specific. I've never used quotes, so I need exact instructions. Alternatively, you could discuss it with Valentin (potentially in French) and he could figure out what to do with the docs. :)

Cheers,
- Graham

Hi all,

On my way to translate chapter 8, I'm dealing with section 8.3.3 and 8.3.4

I have read Han-Wen's comment ( line 1802 of advanced-notation.itely) about the playing instrument, and have found that you can mention it this way:

*******************
{
       e'8 f'8 \quoteDuring #"clarinet" { s2^"clar." }
     }
*******************
or
*******************
\cueDuring #"clarinet" #UP {
      R1^"clar."
    }
*******************

Would it be possible to have a bracket, like the "volta" one, to materialize the extent of the quoting, and reuse the instrumentName or shortInstrumentName property to be printed as markup?

Jean-Charles
