Thanks for the info.

I think that would be the case if the flags would not have a piece of
a stem themselves. However, the flags (1/16 ->) have a piece of stem
and now the upper part of the stem is approximately stem width * 1.5.
If the notes are very small you don't notice it but if you have to use
bigger notes that's a different case.

In addition... If the stem direction is down the flag is aligned to
the left edge of the stem.

This is probably picking a nit but it just caught my eye. :-)

I admit I should have double checked the behaviour before sending you
the patch. I'm sorry.

Do you think my patches would fix this small issue?
