I've done one better.  I've identified and fixed the bug that caused the
dots to drop off the diagram, and I've modified the automatic fret
calculation code to get back to the fret diagram that was calculated when
the section was first written (it's still a bit hard, but not as impossible
as the one in the current docs).  As a side effect, some of the other
difficult diagrams started working better.

The fixes have been pushed to git.  A new compilation of the docs will show
the problems fixed.
