FWIW I tried. Seriously. Triggered by some Aussie asking on this list,
but when I tried to contact him with my preliminary results, asking him to
work on that issue with me, I never heard back from him. So I lost
interest, especially after finding out about the "freeness" of Python and
its problems on Windows.
