Err, what's the pun?

We had a whole bunch (10+) of suggestions for the name; in the
end,Carl and I liked "lily-git" the best.  I'm not overly eager to
change it now, but I'm still interested in this pun.

Just a guess here, but instead of "pond' of lilies, it would be a "patch" (as in a patch of ground" of lilies.
