Many UK universities have both Hons and Ord courses from the outset (or at least they used
to when I was involved with them.) Students can also opt to drop from Hons to Ord if they don't do very well after 1st and 2nd year exams. And, of course, you might be awarded an Ordinary degree if you do badly in Hons finals. Trevor
