Ah, I see.
I created a file "tiny.ly" and did the following

lilypond tiny.ly
lilypond --ps tiny.ly

I have attached the resulting tiny.ps and tiny.pdf

BTW: I have the idea it is not really a Lilypond bug. The same thing 
happens if I produce a .ps file using abcm2ps as music typesetter. Then I 
create a pdf using ps2pdf (which uses ghostscript), and this gives almost 
identical error messages. Could it be a ghostscript-9.04 problem ?
