I guess i don't know how to write curly braces in texinfo.  Should it be

PATH=~/type-here-directory-containing-git-cl:"$\{PATH\}"
@end example
?

How do i proceed?  I understand that you cleaned staging, Graham, so i
simply push the patch when it's fixed?
