doesn't this a different polymorphic annoyances somewhere else, ie.
\set "keySignature" = #(..)
\set "Staff.keySignature" = #(..)
now, \set gets either a string (keySignature) or list of string. Are
music function equipped to deal with this type of polymorphism.
