We might need some better solutions for this ancient problem.
If you use a different installer environment like conda, the default python
interpreter is somewhere else, such as in my case
'/Users/vm/anaconda/bin/python' which is Python 3.5.1 :: Anaconda 2.4.0
(x86_64)
In this case none of the examples of directly accessing the scripts within
the Lilypond.app will work.
