Well, I think, (similarly to Finale's conception) Lily shouldn't provide
all text marks you can think of. 

Many features should be achieved by user-defined commands, i.e. you can
make a myCommands.ly file, which you can include thereafter.

Another group of features can be added using your editor's features,
e.g. to change the padding of the bar numbers you must write a quite
complex command. I wrote a jEdit macro for this: it asks for the padding
and automatically inserts an appropriate command to the appropriate
place to change the padding.

Perhaps these user addons should be published, so the other users can
use them. For novice users it would be especially helpful. (Actually I
will publish my jEdit macros if I have a bit more.)
