Hi Germain,NR 5.1.4 states that the \set keyword is optional.I don't think that's correct -- i.e., as you've discovered, you CAN'T use \set in the \layout { \context { ... }} block!
What a pity... Source code would have looked more balanced (consistent ?) if there where "\set"s on same level as "\override"s in these "\context" blocks.
